Lectrus has applied its vast experience in packaging diesel generators and prefabricated switchgear buildings to rapidly growing sector of the power generation market: gas engines. With its knowledge of electrical engineering and power systems integration, Lectrus has designed and built numerous custom, sound-attenuated metal enclosures to house and protect large gas engines provided to us by customers around the country. Combining our 10-40 ton overhead crane capacity with that of our local rigging partners, our three manufacturing plants are capable of installing and integrating just about any size reciprocating gas engine your customer requires. We have skilled metal workers and electricians on staff, and certified pipefitters working at Lectrus as subcontractors whenever needed.
Lectrus gas engine enclosures feature a vibration-resistant skid base and a robust drop-over style wall-ceiling system. Similar to our diesel generator enclosures, these walk-in, NEMA 3R enclosures feature a welded and bolted construction, with all fabricated steel parts conforming to ASTM A569, Grade C-1018, and all structural steel conforming to ASTM A36. The walls, roof, and doors are lined with soundproof insulation and the galvanized liner is secured with screw-type construction.
The demand for gas engines is increasing every day. Property owners are looking to cut their energy bills, reduce dependency on an aging power grid, reduce their carbon footprint and differentiate their facilities from competitors who are also looking to fill vacancies. Installing on-site power production through the installation of a combined heat and power (CHP) or cogeneration (cogen) plant makes a lot of sense. Natural gas prices are near an all time low and implementing power generation systems featuring less dependency on foreign oil, higher fuel efficiency and ultra-low emissions is the smartest choice. These trends point to gas engines and Lectrus is ideally positioned to be your packaging partner. We have experience with most all major brands of gas engines, generators, switchgear and associated equipment.
Applications ideally suited for gas engine systems include: commercial/residential high-rise buildings, universities, hotels, hospitals, landfills, data centers and large agricultural and food processing operations. Lectrus has over 30 years experience in these markets and applications. From custom metal electrical cabinets to 50-ft by 200-ft multi-piece prefabricated power distribution centers, we thrive on designing and building a fully integrated custom metal enclosure to house your critical equipment.
